Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Throne

21 April 2010

Fashionably late as usual, Hoss defeated the Lich King this evening. A very fun fight, that really should have been dead a month ago; we ended up raiding against the our attendance for most of March. April came along and we started getting our shit together.. yay us!

Now for the hard modes.

Team Edward and their boss, Ms. Lana'thel, met a bloody end at the hands of Hoss. Although Angelie was too busy staring at Edward's lovely hair, the rest of us muscled through and defeated them. We finally found a good use for Aindayen -- give him a zero-threat buff and let him pound away on a chick. Plus, he actually manages to stay out of pink fire. Maybe it's too girly for him? Nah.

Good news, everyone! Professor Putricide and his cuddly crew of conniving colossi didn't stand a chance against the mighty onslaught of The Hoss. We came, we saw, we got puked upon. When all was said and done, we couldn't be sure whose gas we were more afraid of: Festergut's, or Peotr's. Ah, well, time to clean the ooze off our fingers and continue onward!

Oh shit, get your towels ready. It's about to go down.

Icecrown Citadel Lower Spire

And the Blizzard Gods did frown upon us, and they did wish upon us the Loading Screen of Doom. And so it came to pass that Patch Day 3.3 was lost to us for all eternity. And the Gods saw that it was good.

And so it came to pass that Hoss continued forth the next day, and the day after, working ceaselessly in the name of the Blizzard Gods, and tiring not. And the first four bosses of the Icecrown Citadel did fall before them. Rennys and Celillenna did receive the first tier 10 tokens, which shall languish for all eternity in their bags, for they shall not have the badges to purchase them. And the Gods saw that it was good.

Val'kyr Twins

Ah, the Twins. It takes us back to one of Hoss' favorite pastimes: eating balls. Unfortunately, some balls are not meant to be eaten. Thus was the saga of the Val'kyr twins. Shouting: "My Twins trump your balls," Better charged into the fray. Although she took her share of Chocolate Salty Orbs™ to the face, Hoss prevailed.

The Horde like to yell things like "Lok'tar ogar!" and "Weakling!" Scoffing in their face, we yelled back: "You bunch of lily livered kaniggets! We fart in your general direction!" Strangely, farting didn't work against these guys. What did work: Pure Hard DPS. That's right, we called them names.

Nevertheless, several of our valiant knights fell to their onslaught. Yet pressing ever onward, amidst cries of "run away," we managed to defeat several of them in crushing hand-to-keyboard combat.

When all was said and done, the Horde were nowhere to be found. In their place, we discovered a mysterious... chest!

(Sheep guy snuck in for the screenshot after being benched all night. That bastard always wants to be the center of attention. -50 DKP!)

Lord Jaraxxus

Lord Jaraxxus, Eredar Lord of his nether regions, put up a decent fight for a night. After a few hours of playing around, we decided we'd had enough of his inane yelling and busted his ass. Also: bewbs.

[Plus a bonus fireball!]

Grats to Dale, Valdis, Rennys, Draecco, Kirynos, Esmeralda, Állara, Forty, Alexthegreat, and Rawberry on killing Algalon the Observer (10 player) and completing Observed (10 player). We were the fourth guild on the server to do it. As of today, just 1328 guilds in the world had completed this encounter. Thanks for everyone's dedication and hard work.

Ulduar Day 1

16 April 2009

Today begins our exciting adventures through Ulduar. We typically avoid raiding on patch days, but we pulled out all the stops so we could get started on the new zone! After a brief run in with the trash clearing to Flame Leviathan, Hoss was ultimately defeated by an unannounced surprise boss, the Loading Bar.

We finally called it quits after the Loading Bar boss fight had lasted over an hour. A retreat was called, and we fell back to regain our strength for Ulduar the following day.

Ulduar Day 2

After a good night's rest, Hoss again gathered at the entrance to the fabled Ulduar. We formed a raid, and set forth onto our continued adventure; only again, we were ambushed by the Loading Bar who was waiting for us immediately upon entering.

Yet again, we battled with this mysterious foe, with the only sign of progress being that he was not holding us hostage and we were sometimes free to move around. Somehow, Loading Bar lost his control over us and we suddenly were able to set foot again inside the grounds of Ulduar.

I ended up stepping away shortly after the Loading Bar victory, but was cheering on the team as they battled the Flame Leviathan a short time later. From what I could read and hear, it sounded like a great fight and we were finally on our way through the zone.

Of course, nobody thought to take a picture, but they tell me he died so that's good enough for me.

We then chose to fight the dragon (drake?), eh, whatever it is, named Razorscale. After a bit of trial and error, we finally made some progress in the fight later in the evening. Once reaching the second phase of the battle, we nearly beat it our first time there; but it took us another solid attempt to beat him.

I was there this time, and had the few of us remaining after the kill pose for something; yeah, I'm a crappy photographer.

That's all for tonight, should be more news soon.

Ulduar is here!

And with that announcement Hoss returns to doing what Hoss does best!

We also intend to start some serious raiding!  Stay tuned, we'll let you know how it all comes out!
